Description
Just like his ancestors, Hil Jolley moved to the Isle of Man from England. he grew up in Worcestershire / Herefordshire borders (Cider Country), and with a love for cider and history he would like you to share in his passions.

Our Cider is made from a blend of 100% Herefordshire Cider apples grown locally to where it is produced on the Worcestershire / Herefordshire border. I grew up around that area living in a 16th century cottage that had a working period cider mill in the barn. Whilst discovering my Manx heritage I wanted to bring a part of my own roots with me to the Isle of Man.

It originally started out as me sourcing cider from small and medium sized producers in the UK, from around where I used to live, to bring it over here. It was about getting 100% juice cider – cider not [made] from a concentrate – to people in the Isle of Man.

Then I started to do my own brand, Isle of Cider: I work with a cider producer in Herefordshire who makes it for me and it’s all 100% juice. It get it shipped in and distribute it around the island.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Very pale yellow gold colour, white bubbly head that dissipates and aroma of honey, flowery, heather, vanilla hint. Taste is sweetish, honey, heathery, woody, herbal, with alittle tartness. Medium bodied, light carbonation, drying flowery finish. Quite drinkable.

1/9/2025. Bottle bought direct from the producer. Pours clear very pale gold with a few bubbles. Aroma is light honey, flowery, green, apple blossom, white grape. Semi-dry. Not too sweet, though honey sweetness does come through as the initial dryness fades. Very slight sparkle to the carbonation. Drinks like a white wine. A very drinkable mead at 9% rather than being a sipper mead. Dangerously hides its abv.
