BB 01.08.2018. dark yellow hazy color, medium big white head. smells grassy, musty, grainy, ripe fruits, peppery. rather average smell. medium body, bubbly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes grassy, grainy, peppery, chlorophyl, musty. finishes medium bitter with notes of grass, chlorophyll and some metallic notes. not a fan of this, quite a few off notes. 6, 4, 5, 2, 10

Dec. ’16. Batzen Hell, on tap at Luppolo Station, with Roman ratebeer crew. It poured a clear yellow to golden body with medium sized head. Malty aroma, honey, some corn(?), touch of spicy herbal hops. Flavor was lightly bitter, quite hoppy for the style on palate, earthy. Lightly chalky with bread and honey malt background. Pleasant, medium bodied with long herbal dry finish, light cardboard from it. A bit unbalanced without an idea where it would like to go, but decent and pleasant. Quite a typical brewpub helles.

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Dorata intensa, limpida, schiuma bianca media persistente. Al naso sentori di lieviti, pane, miele, leggero erbaceo. In bocca è bilanciata, base di malto media con finale leggermente luppolato. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione media. Discreta, fresca, ma non lascia il segno.

On tap at the source in Bolzano/Bozen - Italy. Golden dark semi clear, pretty bright with a frothy huge foamy head. Nose: yeasty really, esters forward too and Wheat all around. Getrunken 2016 auf einem Food-Festival im Wiener Stadtpark an einem Stand, der nur Bier und Wurst verkaufte. Das Wiener Lager ist ein gut malziges, rotbraunes Bier mit einer angenehmen Süße. Auch wenn es keine Aromenbombe ist, so passt es gut als gemütliches Feierabendbier.

Das Dunkle aus Südtirol ist ein recht einfaches Bier. Es hat einige gute Aromen nach Röstmalz und Kaffee zu bieten und hinterlässt einen angenehmen Geschmack auf der Zunge. Aber für ein Top-Bier fehlt irgendwie die Tiefe.
