Bomber from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a clear dark reddish brown color with a large frothy brown head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, chocolate and a faint hop finish. The taste is basically melted ice cream... chocolate and vanilla with a finish of roasted malts and faint hops. Medium bodied, slight bitterness, average carbonation. Not bad, but a bomber’s worth seems like it might be a bit much.

The taste is citrus, candied citrus, raisin, faint toffee and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied, high carbonation. Nice beer.

The taste is pithy citrus, faint caramel malts and a bitter hop finish. Medium bodied with a slight lingering bitterness. Solid IPA.

Bottle. Pours black with light tan head. Nose/taste of vanilla bean. coffee and roasted chocolate malt. Finishes dry vanilla bean and chocolate malt roast. Body a little thin for the ABV. Smooth. Alcohol well hidden.

Acquired in a trade. Enjoyed in a Hill Farmstead glass slightly above fridge temp. It became nicer as it warmed up.
A - Burnt golden orange. 1 finger head that faded to a small ring. No lacing at all.
S - Intense on the nose. Caramel, brown sugar, burnt oak and grapefruits.
T - Whoa. Up front malts that are power the palate. No more of these IMperial IPAs. Too intense. Finish is light floral, grapefruit and yeah, the Citra dominates
M - 25% carbonation, heavy body. Intense bitterness at the finish. Sticks around for a long time.
O - Yeah, I’ve been drinking a lot of Imperial IPAs lately. They’re far too malty and unbalanced. ugh.

Aroma is rather strong on gooseberry bush. Also nettles and some caramel. Flavour has rather strong and stinging hops with gooseberry bush, some biscuits and hints of nettles. Refreshing, but the hop profile is a bit harsh.

Bottle brought back from SoCal trip. Clear dark brown with a full lasting tan head. Slightly sweet woody roasted aroma with some vanilla. Pretty mild. Nice bold roasted flavor with some coffee and a bit of ash and fairly barrel aged tasting for a non BA beer. Decent bitterness at the end and a slight metallic note. Fairly thin dry pallate and appropriately soft carbonation. Don’t pick up much Vanilla. Decent all around porter.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a orange tint and a thinnish off-white head, about only a centimetre tall. Aroma of alcohol, yeast, coriander seed, curacao and a bit of rye - not much though. Medium-bodied; Assertive yeast and a good amount of coriander seed and lemon and orange rinds. Aftertaste is fairly mild with the yeast and malt coming through but not much of anything else. A touch of sugars at the end with a hint of bitterness. Overall, an acceptable beer - but nothing sublime and with a few good tastes, nice, but not as complex as I was expecting. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Super Jr Market (BestDamnBeer Shop) in San Diego, California on 06-May-2012 for US$6.49 sampled at home in Washington on 05-July-2012.

22oz bomber pours clear copper with tan head. The aroma has a good load of bitter hops that are vaguely spicy, pine and earthy citrus with a light background of biscuit malts. The taste is pleasingly hoppy with both flavor and bitter hops creating a sweet orange hard candy sensation along side of resiny pine bitterness. To midway the bitterness really ramps up and into the finish it gives way to hints of biscuit malts and caramel malts. Nice full hoppy rich brew.
