Taster at brewery. Normally I would have overlooked this style, but the brewer suggested I try it. She was taught by her grandmother how to make a sahti. Copper colored body, a few bubbles. Aroma and taste are strong in both mint and juniper, making for quite a first sip. It either mellows out after that or your palate has adjusted. It's quite a kick in the teeth, but actually very refreshing after that.

taster at Red Hawk. Medium amber, lightly cloudy, small head. Aroma brings cherries and rye bread. Taste is smooth, mildly sour, fruity with bready notes throughout.
