Tap @ Bull and Bush. Orange amber appearance with an off white head. Mild, earthy hoppy, toasty, mild toffee, caramel malty nose. Moderately toffee, caramel malty, well carbonated, mild hoppy flavor. Mostly just an easy drinking, toffee-centric, alt session beer.

On tap at the brewpub. 12.5% abv. Could not get a clear story behind this beer but appears to be a blend of several 1, 2 and 3 year wood aged beers. Cloudy chocolate brown beer. Lots of mellow bourbon and chocolate. Some rye aromatics as well. Very full on beer with spirity warmth in the finish.

Surprisingly good hefe from these guys - a mild sweetness is tempered by a fair amount of citric tartness and mildly peppery phenols - just a tiny bit of clove - body is creamy and the yeastiness adds a hit of a chewiness - lemony tang on the tail end - refreshing.

Tap at the brewpub - this version was highly hopped and 11% abv - a hoppy-ass American style barley wine - because of this, the Bigfoot comparisons are inevitable - this doesn’t hold up - assertive hoppiness at first that works well with some of the estery character of the beer - sticky sweet maltiness, toffee - a bit of sherry character - alcohol is warming at first, but too strong in the finish, combining with a now harsh malt character that combines to create a slightly medicinal finish - starts off okay, but ends on a low note.
