Copper color, tan foam, toast and woody aroma. Taste is woody, moderately floral bitterness. A little sweet malt at the dry finish. Gets more sweet as it warms.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very amber glow and even some ruby tints when held up to a light, with a thick, three to four centimetre tall tan head that fades quickly, but still tops the beer after a few minutes. Aroma of earthiness, pitted fruits, caramelised sugars, a dash of toast and some peated malts, all with a good strength in terms of alcohol and malts. Medium-bodied; Rich toasted malts with bunches of nutty and biscuity flavours, some pungent sweetness from caramelised sugars and toffee flavours, but also a dash of earthy and herbal qualities, especially at the end. Aftertaste shows the earthy and very biscuity malt notes with some lighter bitterness from the grain and caramelised sugars with a dry profile near the finish showing some lower alpha acid hops. Overall, a pretty nice beer with a lot of malt notes, but a pretty good balance of [lower alpha acid] hops with some pleasant sweetness and a touch of earth on the finish, but reminiscent of some of the older and classic beers from England! I sampled this 50 cL bottle, purchased from Total Beverage in Thornton, Colorado on 08-May-2021 for US$4,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Estes Park, Colorado on 09-May-2021.

Meh, this beer was okay - it really came across more like an APA - some light fruity esters, and more of an american hop profile - a faint bit of butterscotch/diacetyl through the middle reminds you that it is supposed to be british - this lingers a bit in the finish - not terrible, but I wouldn’t order it again.

Draft. An amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with light notes of butter and diacethyl - I think it is off - but it is still served at the brewpub.
