Bottled. A dark golden beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of metal, malt, and a bit of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of metal, malt, and straw, leading to a bitter and metallic finish. Thanks Marko.

Bottled 250ml. -Courtesy of Marko (Doggythedog), thanks! Dark brown coloured with red glare, medium sized pale brown head, mild coffee nose. Roasted malt, coffee and milk chocolate with notes of rye bread and raisins. Bit watery but surprisingly good and pleasant Bosnian dunkel.

Bottle at a restaurant in Mostar. Pours clear golden with a bubbley white head. Moderate malty aroma with some hoppy notes and hints of caramel. Medium body. More flavour than other pale lagers in the area and quite okay as a thirst quencher. [Backlog: Tasted in Mostar 2010-09-02]

I would have bet that I’ve rated this before, but obviously I forgot it in all the recent mess. Anyway, got a 0.25 l bottle that Doggythedog generously brought from Neum. It poured dark brown body with medium sized head. Coffee and caramel aroma, slightly rough but fine. Flavor was really fine, sweetish and only very slightly sour dark roasted malty. Coffee, chocolate and raisins would be the equivalent flavors. Medium in body with pleasant, long coffee finish, slightly spiced with dark chocolate. Nice schwarzbier, pleasant surprise from BiH!

0.25l bottle found to my huge delight and surprise at the Jadranpromet store in Neum (the only town in BiH on the sea) while traveling to Dubrovnik. Poured a nice deep red body with lively carbonation and a brownish thick head that went away pretty fast. The nose is soft, malty and almost pungent, coffee and caramel, maybe just a hint of raisins. Remarkably good! The taste shows a similar, supple maltiness carrying hints of coffee and caramel, maybe tobacco, akin to a good Czech dunkel, but battered a bit by a crude, slightly metallic hopiness, not too assertive but way too strong for what it is, offsetting the mouthfeel that would’ve been sublime if softer. The bitterness obviously sticks in the aftertaste. Quite similar to Tomislav in some ways and an immense surprise. The best Bosnian (and Herzegovinian) beer comes from the brewery whose other beer is probably the worst in that country. I might be underrating this but by little.

07/06 0.5l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, thank you a lot! It had golden body with medium head. Aroma was quite weak, sweet corny maltiness. As for what I’ve heard about the beer, I expected much worser flavor. It was pretty tasteless, but still relatively pleasant with sweet malts dominating, I didn’t like the corny notes, but... Finish is short, sweet. Surely not good, even for pale lager, but not so awfully bad either.

0.5l bottle shared with heavy, courtesy of ogivlado (thanks!) So, I finally had this one after it’s been evading the Croatian crew for nearly a year. Those few people who have actually had it before all claimed that it was crap but I was still happy to have it. Oh the joys of being a rater... Anyway, poured a nice deep golden colour with a thick, big-medium white head that went away somewhat fast. Surprisingly good. The nose wasn’t exactly offensive, but the oily and dull honey maltiness isn’t the most attractive of aromas one can find in a beer. The taste was, as everyone said, empty, but it wasn’t exactly foul... some soft grainy maltiness mingling with some weak weak milk caramel could be fizbd down there. A bit odd but not offensive. Hop? Initially, none but one can find some very weak acidic hop near the end, leading into the aftertaste. Had far worse.
