Established in 2015
We founded Hop Lot in 2015 with a desire to create a family-friendly brewery that boasted a tap list full of traditional ales, plus a beer garden embracing our Northern Michigan outdoor surroundings. Our unique outdoor beer garden features a host of campfires, picnic tables, outdoor games, and more. Take a stroll through our hop garden or sip one of our favorite brews in the tap room while enjoying our middle-of-the-woods ambiance.
Visiting Traverse City for the weekend? You can find us right on M22 in Suttons Bay, MI. We’re right in the midst of popular biking and hiking trails like the TART Trail. We brew all styles of beer for a wide range of palates, and we’ve always got something fresh on tap. Check back often to see what’s brewing.

Hazy bright orange body, thin cream head. Nose sweet, with bubblegum, tea, and floral elements. Body gummy, leafy, and dank, with tea tannins. Relatively dry but less so than their Hazy IPA, and with a more complex flavor profile.

Cloudy bright orange body, medium cream head. Nose tangy orange. Creamy body, mostly citrus rind with essentially no sweetness, but pleasant and a touch tart. Mouthfeel is the highlight.

Growler from the brewery. A hazy, murky pour, yellow with a white head. Citrus, pine hops in the aroma, somewhat yeasty. Flavor has citrus and pine hops, but still tastes a bit young and yeasty. It's still tasty, though.

On tap at Hop Lot. Pours a clear red amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet malty toffee, plum, caramel. Flavor has peaty, toasty, malty toffee with a hint of prune. Pretty nice.

On tap at Hop Lot. Pours golden with a light haze and a white head. Yeasty pale malt aroma.Flavor is basically what I think of as that classic Belgian-style golden: yeasty pale malt, pear, not overly sweet. Really nice.

Sample at the taproom. The beer pours a hazy dark orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Sticky strings of lacing on the glass. Citrus, hops and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, pine and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at the taproom. Brown-black color with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, bourbon and coffee aroma. Medium body with flavors of oaky bourbon, espresso and malt. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
