Thanks to Elisabeth for sharing a 500ml can with friends. Crystal clear golden body. Airy white head leaving spotty lacing behind. Grainy nose, mid-sweet. Modest taste of grain, mild caramel and earth. Rather sweet malty ending. Medium bodied with noticeable alcohol. Possible to drink. (Tromsø 29.09.2017).

Thanks Natko! Paaale golden body, tiny white head. Strong corn aroma, on some honey. Er not offensive but... Empty taste corn, apple, carbonation bite, ends dry despite the sweetish seeming taste. Eh... Nope.

500ml bottle given to me by a friends daughter on her return from Kazakhstan (I did request her for a beer) and in turn shared with four mates on 24th July 2017 at the monthly Shrewsbury Beer Exchange in Chez Sophie. Anyway the beer was awful really, looked a typical lager/pilsner: clear and bright golden body, white topping. Intense sweetcorn aroma and taste, couldn’t get passed the sweetcorn myself and I am surprised minutemat has scored it so well, the other three guys at ’Untapped’ players, so you’ll not see their comments and scores.

500ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, July 17 - many thanks to Jeremy for this! I quite possibly had this during my time in Kazahkstan pre-RB, but who knows. Pours clear gold, thin white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, a little sweetcorn. Taste is clean, no real off-putting off flavours, besides some sweetcorn. There are worse euro lagers, would have an evening of this

500ml can. Pours clear gold with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is grain, grass, malt. Taste is light sweet, malt, grain, light bitterness. Not exciting, but clean and drinkable. One of the better Kazakh lagers.

100ml on tap at Bochonok on Bogenbai Batyr Street in Almaty. Pours dark brown with a small, brief beige head. Aroma is black bread, spices, faint dark malts. Taste is sweet, caramel, light spiciness. Didn’t expect it to be different to the Russia-brewed version. Not bad. (Aroma 7. Appearance 3. Taste 6. Palate 2. Overall 11)
