Description
The brewery is part of the local authority social service program. Norton Brewing based in the grounds at Norton Priory the real ale is brewed by people who use the service trainee brewers, under the watchful eye of trained staff and is sold to licenced premises and is available in gift packs.

Cask (gravity) @ The 18th Reading Beer and Cider Festival 2012, Reading, Berkshire England.Unclear medium amber orange colour with a small to average, frothy and open, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, apricot, fruity, light salty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120505]

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral and mildly eggy. Flavour is citrus, wood, mild acidic notes as well. Quite mouthdrying bitterness.

Cask at Pig’s Ear Beer Festival, London. Hazy amber/brown. Very fruity with light-medium body. Salted dusty caramel followed by slight resiny bitterness. Somewhat anonymous.

Cask@Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2011. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is nutty, sweet fruity and mildly hoppy and herbal. Flavour is quite similar in a nice balance. Also has some slight syrupy notes along with some toasted notes as well.
