Bottle picked up from Globus hypermarket Ceské Budêjovice and consumed at home Sunday 5th July 2026 after a lovely 45-50km bike ride with Viktor and Maria Egging am See - Vilshofen - Egging am See. We're at home now cooking a Vitello Tonnato Burger with Tuna and Caper Sauce and a Black Olive Dressing, listening to Chalk Crystalpunk. Pours clear gold with a mid sized white head. Grassy nose but also hints of herbal and breadiness. Flavour also grassy hoppiness, mouthfeel good, light bitterness, a touch thin but otherwise solid if unexciting. Score: 6.5

Bottle picked up from Globus, Ceské Budêjovice and consumed at home Sunday 21st June 2026 at the top of the garden, we're listening to Panic Shack - Panic Shack and contemplating cooking Prawns, Feta and Chorizo in a Tomato sauce in the wood oven later. The aroma is a little bit tinny, metallic probably better way of describing it, there's a little caramel but mostly metallic. It's a malty beer and there's a bitterness but not so happy, a little bit soapy hops maybe and again a tad metallic. Score: 6.0

10.06.2026 - 0.5l bottle from albert in prague. pours a clear golden. mild aroma of woody hops and hay. flavour of chewed pencil, grass. nothing special but solid and very drinkable, reminds me of budweis.

Szału nie ma, ale dobrze schłodzone z beczki może smakować.

Barwa złota w kierunku bursztynu. Piana gęsta, obfita jednak dość szybko znika niemalże do zera. Goryczka raczej niska, ziołowa. Dobrze pijalne.

Clear golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is bread and malt, a hint of lemon. Taste is (sweet) bread, some bitter/herbal notes as well. It is ok for an AF, but has the (sweet) breadish aftertaste you encounter with the style.

Bohemian Pilsener straight from Moravia, brewed since the late 19th century - the kind of local classic in Czech beer culture I should taste a lot more of. Thanks tderoeck for sharing! Thick and frothy, egg-white, moussey, shred-lacing head over a deep peachy-orangey blonde robe with some loose strings of sparkling running throughout. Aroma of bread crust, dried flowers, moist white pepper, rusk, dry cereals, wild grasses, minerals. Clean onset, crisp with fizzy carb (sharper than expected even for the style); smooth to almost thinly creamy cereally pale malt sweetishness of a pure and honest kind, all-malty of course, gradually bittered by grassy, somewhat weed-leafy hop bitterness, while the carbonation keeps adding a kind of minerality reminiscent of spring water from a well in the Moravian hills. As classic as it gets for a Czech Pilsener, perhaps less known than some of its congeners, but stylistically ticking all the boxes. No surprises here, just very solid, pure, straight to the point and clear as a mountain stream.
