Description
Housed beneath The Rat and Ratchet and since the very first brew of Lab Rat in 2011, head brewer, Paul Spencer and brewer Robin Moss, have created rodent themed beers to critical acclaim. Our beers are distinctive, extreme, generally intensely hopped and anything but average, experimenting with a range of different beer styles, strengths and ingredients. Rat beer is now infecting all four corners of the UK faster than the Black Death, turning a local infestation into a national plague. White Rat in particular has emerged as the flagship beer and now sits within the Ossett core range.

Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2015. Pale golden coloured. Has lager qualities most notably in its flavour, but still very much an ale, certainly in texture.

Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2015. Very dark. Has lots of roasted malts for a black IPA, although there is a fruitiness here too. Relatively strong tasting.

Huddersfield Oktoberfest 2015. Golden coloured with a glow. Quite hoppy with some fruitiness, but thereโs an underlying maltiness here too.

Tried at the cardinals hat, Lincoln. Rich golden colour with a thick off white head. Aroma is light tropical fruit, taste refreshing and fruity with a slight sweet finish.

Two cask half-pints, hand pulled in The Bridge End Inn, Ruabon, Wales on 22nd Sep 2015. Really enjoyed this, hence the two halves. Black bodied with a good, solid tanned foam blanket on top. Malts, lightly roasted and singed around the edges. Just seemed to flow right, lovely texture, flavour and aromas. Best beer of the five I tried during a mini session before watching Grimsby Town play at Wrexham (0-0).

Cask at the Brewery Tap; clear amber pour with a creamy off white head, aroma has peach and tangerine, taste has decent tropical hop, lingering citrus, assertive bitterness, smooth mouthfeel, good.
