12oz can. Man Broken Bat are a terrible brewery. Warm, off notes. I feel bad for dropping $1.50 on this can. Really terrible stuff. Burnt plastic, garbage undertones. Pussyfooting at best with the cherry tone. Really weak brewing.

From Brewvana. Canned January 30th 2023.

It pours a cloudy colour of rusty orange, solid head of foam, some lacing.

The smell is some grapefruit citrus, piney perhaps grassy, hint of being dank, tiny bit of toasted malt buried deep.

I may as well say that it tastes like it smells and save some time. It is another rather typical of the style.

I would not seek this out.

From Brewvana, 16 ounce can, canned January 27th 2023.

It pours a slightly hazy pale gold with an impressive head of foam and lacing.

I get piney hops notes, almost a dry hopped aroma, mild cracker malt.

The taste is actually a mix of grapefruit and pine, cracker malt, and imho, it has a dry aspect to it.

Good mouthfeel.

Interesting style, this Cold IPA.

Tap at Broken Bat. Overboard powdery cocoa and cinnamon tone. No finesse, nothing really fun...just a straight up cheesy pastry for you. Adjuncts are lame here. Base is weak too.

Tap at Broken Bat. Rye gives it a nice touch. Not World Class stuff, but Rye IPA is always sort of nice.

Tap at Broken Bat. Probably the least impressive example of the style I've had, and it is still drinkable, enjoyable enough. Big bitter hop backbone. This one is a little hazy still, a pinch flabby for the style. OK.

Pint can from Wine Cellar Depere, 8/31/22. Black, thin brown head, poor retention. Aroma of pistachio, nuts, roast, chocolate. Hint of vanilla and mint. Taste is chocolate, nuts, roast, pistachio, cherry. Sweet but well balanced. Mild booze. Fuck the unwritten rules.

Ridiculously hazy golden, straw and raw honey coloured body with a very thick, six to seven centimetre tall nicely foamed tan head that fades slowly. Aroma of malt, lactose, dry wheat, hay, grass and a lot of oats and light oranges along with some vanilla as well in the nose. Medium to Full-bodied; Rich wheatie and strong oats as malts with a pungent lactose, vanilla and super sweet bite from oranges, tangerines and grass with a big yeastie and slightly bready note finishes this all off, with a lot of residual sugars still around. Aftertaste is rich, very vanilla-y and bringing out a good deal of oats and a strong wheatie maltiness, without much hops at all, aside from a slight orangey and citrusey characteristic and some hay and grassiness as well, but the lactose, vanilla and especially the sweetness finish off strongly. Overall, a slightly different beer than I expected, but interesting and very vanilla-y, creamy and especially rich in malts with oatmeal around. Great to try from Wisconsin and to have super fresh! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Hy-Vee in Madison, Wisconsin on 08-August-2021 for US$3,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 19-August-2021.

Bottle shared at the 3/13 ProSpeak tasting thanks to Nate! I'd have to boycott this beer if not for the asterisk. Fuck Barry Bonds. Dark brown, thin head. Aroma of booze, raisin, apple. Taste is whiskey, raisin, roast. Thin, anemic. Something awry here. Maybe steroids?

Pint can from Total Wine Greenfield, 12/3/21. Hazy orange, large frothy white head, good retention. Aroma of strawberry, vanilla, funk. Taste is strawberry, green leafy notes, orange, pale malt. Mild tartness. Decent.
