Draught @ Orkenoy, Chicago (Sept 2023). Clear brown with reddish highlights, large creamy beige head, faint caramel aroma, low carbonation, bitter spicy caramel malt taste with cinnamon/cloves/nutmeg, thin body, long bitter finish. A proper winter warmer.

Draught @ the taproom (Sept 2023). Opaque dark brown with a small frothy dark beige head, faint roasted malt aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt taste with oyster flavor and oily feel, thin body, long finish. Quite a nice oyster stout!

Draught @ the taproom (Sept 2023). Faintly cloudy dark yellow/amber with a very small frothy off-white head, faint sour rye aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter rye taste with faint tartness, basement aroma, thin smooth body, long finish. Smooth and tasty.

Tap at the brewery. Satisfying for the style. Bright, sour, big flavors. Guava and Prickly Pear is a really nice combination, guava perhaps accentuating the prickly pear. Good.

Tap at Orkenoy. Not that impressive. Meaty, but not in a smoked malt way. Hefty body, not such impressive lagering. Not into it at all.

Taster #23 at Beer Under Glass. Listed simply as Ørkenoy Rye Saison. Hazy bronze color in glass, thin ring of foam. Light spicy nose is all i can get after the 20 or so beers before this. Saison character leads the taste, with just a light bit of spiciness from the rye malt. Wow. enjoyable after so many stronger beers.
