Very faint smell of dried fruit. Cloudy copper colour, small beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, dried fruit, spices, some toffee and perhaps licorice. Medium sweet, lightly bitter. Lively carbon. Delicious.

Smell of malt, some cereal and grass. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of malt, grass, grain. Sweet long grainy finish. Soft plentiful carbon. Medium bitter, finishes medium sweet. Very nice.

Cask. Mild smell of rye bread. Very dark brown colour, tiny tan head. Aroma of rye bread, some dried fruit, ash, roasted malt. Flat carbon. Bitter, lightly sweet. Soft palate.

(Keg at Gallow's Bird Tapiola, 20260214) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had pine, fruitiness and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, pine, liquorice, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts liquorice and bitterness. A tasty blend of burnt malts and fruity hops.

(Cask at Gallow's Bird Tapiola, 20260214) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized, lightly brown and it lasted long. Aroma had toasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, dark chocolate, ash, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, earth and bitterness. A balanced burnt brew.

Fresh hoppy, piney and roasty with some citrus, grapefruit, herbal notes, hints of resin, chocolate and earthiness, long lasting lingering bitterness. Pretty tasty and properly hoppy black IPA. Nice.

(Keg, a sample, at Gallow's Bird Tapiola, 20251226) The beer poured black. Its head was tiny and almost white. Aroma had toasted malts, raisins, vanilla, whisky and wood. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, raisins, wood, vanilla, whisky, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste had toasted malts, wood and bitterness. A tasty barrel ageing of this beer.

(Keg at Gallow's Bird Tapiola, 20251226) The beer mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had toffee, caramel, earth and mildly raisins. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, toffee, caramel, earth, raisins and bitterness. Aftertaste had toasted malts, earth and bitterness. A good and balanced malty brew.
