Draft pour at Lone Oak. Poured a very dark cola color, with a small brown head. Aroma was big toasty chocolate. Creamy milk chocolate, very light bitterness. Pleasant stuff.

Draft pour at Lone Oak. Poured a pitch black color with a small brown head. Aroma was vanilla, light cinnamon. I got some light chilies, vanilla. Not a lot of barrel in this one? I really liked drinking this on a windy, cool Spring day. Alcohol is really well masked.

Super clear, beautiful copper and bronze coloured body with a slight orange glow and a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall tan head, along with a million bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of crisp, grassy and herbal hops with a piney scent as well, showing some malt and sweetness here, but the hops and associated bitterness seem strongest. Medium-bodied; Very deep and bitter, grassy, herbal and grapefruity notes dominate with a ton of bitterness, dryness and crisp notes, with a small amount of resin and syrupy sweetness and just enough malt for support, but this one is all about the strong and super pungent hops - with a lot of alpha acid bitterness throughout. Aftertaste is dry and grassy, with a very small dose of grapefruit and associated sweetness, but the hops are great here - very old school, West Coastie IPA styled in a very well-executed fashion! Overall, great to try, especially fresh and for someone who likes real hoppy IPAs, this old-school version is great - it tastes to me like a 'standard' West Coastie IPA, but perhaps Imperial Status is reached just from the hops and bitterness alone - the best way to be 'Imperial'! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from The Perfect Pour in Elkridge, Maryland on 25-October-2022 for US$5,25 canned on 19-July-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-November-2022.
