Description
River City Brewing Company opened in 1993 in the heart of downtown Sacramento. We are the oldest brew pub in Sacramento still operating. In 2015 River City moved to Carmichael CA to begin a new and exciting chapter.
River City prides itself on only using the finest ingredients when brewing and always source local ingredients when possible. Our brewer Ben Barker started with River City in 1995 to 1999 and returned in 2013. His commitment to this craft, shows in his beers.
River City always sources from local farms when possible. We receive produce orders every day to ensure the freshest product always goes out on our plates. We change our menu three times a year to make sure we are always serving what is in season.

At the brewpub. Served on cask. Dark brown color with a huge tan head. Aromas of chocolate, coffee and burnt toast. Medium plus body with lush carbonation. Flavor is coffee, touch of cacao, and smooth burnt toast. Finish has a light hop bitterness. Really good drink. Really.

Draft at the brewpub. Orange amber color with white bubbles for head. Mild citrus hop aroma. Medium body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is diacetyl, citrus and a hint of caramel. Finish suggests greasy. This is not bad for lovers of butter bombs. Course this may be an aberration. Note: The blurb says it’s supposed to have a light malty flavor.

Nitro tap at the brewpub. Dark amber color with a fluffy beige head. It left lace rings. Mild fruit aroma. Medium body with nitro smooth bubbles. Flavor is light stone fruit over mild caramel. Rather English!

Cloudy golden. Light banana and foot on the nose. Banana and very sweet, but with a tart wheaty, spritzy finish. Refreshing despite the initial sugar blast.

Draft at the brewpub. Aroma of roasted malt and hop. Dark amber color with a flattened head. Thin to medium body with moderate carbonation. Flavor a bit vinous with an oak nuance. Just enough floral? hop to balance. It’s not a lot of hop, and it seems mixed hopwise. A dryish, lightly grapey finish. Lightly bitter, could be wood. Or not.
