Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Roast malts and coffee in the aroma. In the mouth there’s roast malts again with a little underlying bitterness plus chocolate and hints of liquorice. Later some smokiness becomes evident leadng to a slightly dry and fruity finish. This is quite nice.

Cask @ Partizan Tavern, Nottingham. Very mildly hazed yellow-gold with a smallish creamy head. Its strength is evident but the brew manages to capture enough fruit notes in both aroma and taste, albeit on the mild side, to be enjoyable everyone.
