Bottle: orange with thick white head, sweet smell, a small amount of hops in the taste and a dry finish, otherwise more like drinking tap water - "one for the large thirst" indeed.

Bottle: pale golden colour with a large white head, which falls back quickly with good lacing; aroma of bread and hops, light refreshing taste, with hops kicking in sometime later.

From tap at the Annafest. Spicy aroma, cloves mostly. grey yellow colour, creamy white head. Spicy and dry oriented franconian weisse. Light to medium body, chewy.

Rerate from bottle. Can see the pretty amber color and rocky golden foam now. Franconia minerals and spice, mellow caramel, chewy medium full body. Good herbal and grassy hop balance. Sampled from a Stein at the Annafest (well ok chugged really). 7 3 7 3 13 Hint of smoke in the nose, herbal. Couldnt see much of it obviously, seemed to be dark golden but it had a beautifull creamy head. Light flavored and perfectly balanced. Very quenching.

Draught at GBBF 2006. Cloudy old gold colour with thin white head. Nice enough banana/bubblegum and lemon flavours to keep you interested. OK weisse.

Bottle (bought at the brewery-pub): Amber coloured, medium-sized fluffy brownish head, slowly diminishing to a small, lacing layer; sweet dark malty, caramelly and a bit toasted nose with a distinctive herbal hoppiness as a counterweight; medium sweet (caramelly)-bitter flavour; malty, caramelly finish with a herbal-hoppy aftertaste. Rather well balanced Dunkel........

On draught at the Brauereigaststätte: Creamy white lacing head; sweet grainy nose, some hidden units of bitterness; sweetish (grainy) flavour, light bodied; short, grainy a bit watery finish. Not very moreish.......

On tap at Reading BF 06. Golden, white head. I don?t like this. Really sickly aroma. Very malty. Cloying. Smells of vomit. Re rate on draught at thr brewery. Clear pale gold. Lasting white head. Light eady drinking nice bit of lemon on the finish.3.3/5. re rate Bottle from Hereford Beer House and drunk at home. wow what a Hell. I knew I remembered it from the brewery bar but not as good as this. Light bright lemon flavour. Its just magical. light easy drinking but enough lemon curd to keep it interesting. light minerality on the finish. superb.

Ceramic mug. Frothy head. The aroma is toasty with woody, slightly fruity hop. Full body. Toasty with a full caramel character. Woody dryness in the finish. This has really good balance. Copper colour. A very Franconian take on festbier. Incidentally, my experience is that GBBF ratings of Franconian beer are worthless. The beer is infinitely better in location, especially the Annafest beer.
