Can from Steve. Deeply hazy dark yellow-light brown, tons of sparkle, thin head with fair retention and tons of soapy lacing. Aroma is initial vague grape, latter half bread. Taste is grape (more Concord than white) and strong bread. Smooth, creamy texture, lively carbonation, dry, bready finish, hint of alcohol heat. While loving grape-y (vs. herby) Nelson, not strong enough, especially in aroma, and it's malt dominant. Looks like this dropped mid-November so isn't because it's too old (wish I could blame that). Not a bad beer but if you're expecting an IPA--featuring Nelson--this is disappointing. Could be good if reworked.

16 oz can in a trade with tfontana. Thank you, love that Nelson!! Aroma is is very malty with maybe a nuance of white grape. No idea the age of the can. This is a malt bomb. Flavor is an abundance of pale grain and astringent bitterness. I am assuming that this is old?? Really bad.

Can shared by Steve. Opaque, inky brown with nice viscosity, no lacing. Aroma is strong bittersweet coffee--mildly spicy--over bourbon. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, thick texture, full bodied, soft carbonation, mild spice and alcohol. Coffee is so dominant that obscures the base stout, bourbon and no maple at all. Don't love the coffee and it covers up a lot of what I loved about Ocho, so don't love it. Covers alcohol reasonably well.

Can shared by Steve. Opaque, inky black with nice viscosity, no head or lacing. Aroma is strong earthy malt, bourbon, vague dark fruit and maple. Taste is strong bourbon, initial earthy malt, dark fruit, then later, milder maple. Smooth, thick texture, medium bodied, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Alcohol is remarkably well hidden. Bourbon is strong and maple is pretty muted but that is not altogether unexpected. Pretty nice.

16 oz can. Aroma is soft yeast and Pilsner malt. Flavor shows malt that is mild honey and Noble hops to provide some bitterness. No flaws or astringent bitterness. Light body with a clean with a finish.

Can from brewery via Steve.Opaque, inky black, no head/lacing.Aroma strong sweet, roasted, earthy malt, apple brandy.Taste strong earthy malt, apple brandy (in bourbon before brandy?).Smooth, soft carbonation, fin as taste. I like it better than Acht and, even though the description doesn't say it was in a bourbon barrel before the apple brandy, it sure tastes like it. The base shines; I wish the apple brandy could have been a smidge stronger. Good.

16 oz can shared by tfontana, ty Tom. Aroma is bread like malt with mild lemon. Flavor follows with a decent lemon-like character. Although now I know it’s passion fruit. Light body and lots of lingering fruit.

Can shared by Steve. Clear gold with nice sparkle, good-sized head with fair retention, no lacing. Aroma is strong toasted malt, caramel, bittering hops, mild green apple. Taste is strong toasted malt, caramel, bittering hops. Soft carbonation, bitter over caramel finish. Legit ESB. Well done, collaborators!
