Keg at The Hanging Bat. Hazy amber/brown body with a thin off-white head. Faint lacing. Aroma of pine, earth and orange peel. Flavour of blood orange, bitter citrus and caramel. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Nice fizz. It’s not balanced or well rounded, but it’s nice to try a hoppy Brown Ale. Good beer.

Hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is dry and crisp. Mild minerals. Thin malts, not that sweet. Mild rye spice. Dry bitter pithy hops. Citric peel bitterness. Little hop spice. Dry bitter finish. A bitter bastard but also a bit dry.

Flaske fra Holmens importkoffert, delt med Ovesen på tappekveld: nesten helt svart, med flott skum som varer. Diskret røykaroma med mørkbrent kaffesyrlighet. Mer røykmalt i smaken, ristet brød på grensen til brent, balansert av syrligheten, og med en tørr avslutning.

Bottle shared with JMB at HNB 06.06.15. Very dark brown. Foamy and persistent off-white head and lacing. Moderate aroma of roasted malt, coffee and vanilla. Similar taste, with pine and evident bitterness. Not much smoke.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a longlasting white head. Has a fruity citrus hoppy aroma. Fruity malty slightly harsh hoppy citrus flavor. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy bitter finish.

Bottle from Beermoth, Northern Quarter, Manchester, consumed at home B/H Monday 4th May 2015 Black or pretty damn close to Black with a Guinness like creamy large head. Soft and smooth with some cocoa but with a tanginess and a whilst roasty and malty it is not heavy. There is a smokiness throughout but it is a gentle light smoked beer backed with a pleasant hoppy bite. A lovely beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
