Keg @ 57 Thomas Streeet (Marble), Manchester. Almost black with a thin creamy off-white head. Initially lightly smoked but eventually lingers long in its aftertaste. Very much a porter in style with a full body and very good roasted malt aroma and taste that edges close to stout territory.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. This one was a slow gusher. Pours perfectly clear gold, highly effervescent, with a sturdy, creamy white head. There’s a good base layer of dry, pale malts in the nose, then above that some pithy citrus fruits, crispy grains and hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with dry bready sweetness, a bit of melon, grapefruit, orange rind, more pith, hay, pine needles. Light to medium bodied with average-plus carbonation. Pretty well balanced at the conclusion with further dry pale malts, dry and pithy citrus, some mild grain husk bitterness, hints of dry pine. Not a bad effort.

Keg at Westhow House at Crystal Palace, London, Thursday 2nd October 2014. Pours pale gold with a sticky white head. A little sweet lemony sherbert on nose. Soft in mouth, bittersweet but edging more to sweet, moderately hoppy burps. Nice enough. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours clear, rich gold with a large (very large) frothy white head that settles into a creamier form. Perhaps a bit over-carbonated. Great aroma, lots of dry and pithy citrus, some pine notes, melon, tangerine. Medium sweet flavor with some grainy bread, bitter pine and grass, hints of wood, orange rind. Medium bodied with average to lively carbonation. Just slightly resinous on the finish with mellow minerals, grass, more citrus rind, some grain husk, lightly toasted pale malts. A serviceable IPA.

330ml bottle from Beermoth. Pours gold with white head. Beautifully fruity aroma. Taste is smooth and full with a strong, well-blended fruitiness that’s not overpowering. Like the smoked porter this was a hugely enjoyable beer. Will have to hunt out the rest now.

Bottle. Nose is mango, slight grapefruit - more new world IPA than brown ale. Taste is malt, slight coffee, leading to tropical fruits, mango, slight smoke note.Mouthfeel is fine. It feels more like a malty American pale, which is perfectly fine, but not what was on the bottle.

Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is very airy and a little crisp. Mild minerals. Very airy malts, touch of thin cream. Hops are mild citric peel. Touch of lemon, light floralness in the airy finish. Super light palate but tasty. Nice one.
