Draught at Darby’s Public House, Vancouver
Hazy light amber color. The aroma is lightly floral and malty. The mouthfeel is dry, not weak; the dry malt flavor and hopping are ordinary. Correct bitterness. A bit metallic in the final.
Clean but simple Pale Ale.

Bottle - Earthy and orange with some biscuit notes. Clear gold with a rich off white head. Orange hops, light biscuit and some light bitterness. Not bad, not as hoppy as described, but that could be the age. Very dry finish.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, small head. The aroma presents both the roasted malt and the hops. The mouthfeel is full, not too dry, not too sweet; powerful roasted malt and hop presence, resiny.
A good back bomb.

2015-03-08, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 7-4-7-4-15=37
Hazy light amber color. The aroma is more fruity than spicy, probably after the usage of modern hops. Smooth and dry mouthfeel; the flavor is moderately spicy, the malt is nice, and it has a good bitterness level. Maybe a bit metallic in the final.
Very pleasant.

Hazy amber color, small head. Very bad aroma, vegetable soup, blood, metal. Good body strength; simple malt flavor with some vegetable. Ordinary bitterness.
Clumsy beer, bad bottle.

Bottle, Legacy. Near black, with a thick head. Aroma has mint, orange, toasty chocolatey malts, woody hop. Rich woody hop character, a touch of phenols, and lots of chocolate late. Good balance. Full body. A fairly hoppy example.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a medium beige head. Nose brings out lots of roasted malt and piney hops. Flavour is very balanced, with loads of roasted malt and piney hops in excellent balance. Dry, roasty and robust. A very nice black IPA.
