Description
In 2003 the Pask family, long-time residents of Fernie, had a dream of their own to bring the brew back to the small rocky mountain coal mining town. They did just that, setting up a Brewery in their family barn. It was the start of things to come.

In 2007 we relocated to our existing building, designed and built from scratch. With constant growth, Brewhouse expansion, new products and revamped recipes, we’ve travelled through kegs to cans to 650ml bottles and into growlers, currently distributing throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and into Manitoba. As we continue to grow, we’ll never forget our roots. It’s as simple as Good Beer from a Good Town.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and very light hopping. Flavour is more expressive on the hops, with bitter piney hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Piney and bitter hop quality on the finish that is rather aggressive. Nice stuff.

355ml can. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a large, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, biscuit, peach, apricot and light citrus. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, biscuit, grapefruit, tangerine and tropical fruit with a dry, bitter, mild hop resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Pretty solid.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is restrained, with notes of cereal malt and straw. Flavour reveals light undertones of honey, atop dry cereal and biscuity notes. Boring and flat even for a kolsch, but clean enough. Meh.

Poured from 650mL bottle [bb 05/2017]. Brown-ish black with light tan head. Chocolate and light smoked wood. Medium body. Citrus is but a mild hint at the end. My favourite local winter ale.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out restrained fresh herbal hops, not much else to speak of. Flavour is similar, bringing out a fairly restrained herbal hop character, with a dry toasted biscuity malt base. Unexciting but nicely constructed. Decent.

Poured from the tap. Golden yellow with white head. Muted grapefruit hop flavour. Simple, balanced between bitter and sweet citrus. A little safe.

On tap at Garrick's Head, pours a hazy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out a sort of stale, tart berry-like character and some musty notes. Flavour is very light and clean, with extremely restrained berry notes and biscuity notes. Lacking character but nothing off about it. Boring.

Bottle from The Gull, North Vancouver
Blond color, hazy. Nice hoppy aroma, a bit animal, sweaty. Dry mouthfeel, the malts are a bit crackery, maybe some paper too, and quite good hopping, resiny, not fruity.
