A nicely made wit beer that contrasts with the rather average offeringa of Fernie. Highly drinkable. Good wit notes with soft hops hints. Medium finish. Could easily drink a hundred more.

Soft barley aroma with a modest head and dark brown body with still a decent amount of translucency. Rather disappointing barley flavour and watery finish. A typical beer of theirs that is found lacking.

Cask with Willamette @ Churchill’s. Chestnut colour and thin head, nose is full of pumpkin spices, maybe some pumpkin. Taste is ok... Typical amber sweetness and pumpkin spices. Reasonable, if dated example.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Dark brown with beige head. Pumpkin and spice fairly mild, subtle chocolate roast malt. Nice balance, but a tiny bit more flavour would be beneficial.

Bottle - Nice roast and some dark chocolate. Deep jet brown with a decent light brown head. Roast, chocolate and some nice sweet maple notes. Nice.

Soft spiced pumpkin aroma and a nice dark Burgundy body but minimal head. Flavour is soft pumpkin with hints of malt. A little weak on the mouth which seems to be Fernie’s trademark. Original review text: Bomber bottle found in the GVRD. Pours with a decent load of head, carbonation in small bubbles and a slightly transparent brown body. The aroma is soft spice pumpkin with vegetable, not too sweet and the brown ale is sort of cooperating but not in harmony. Flavour is a lot of brown maltiness with a few pumpkin spice hints on the back end. Medium finish, slightly sweet but not excessively so. I think things just aren't prominent enough here, it's all muddy and muddled. It needs a proper conductor to make a real symphony about what's going on.

Pours with a strong beautiful head that’s slightly creamy, and a foggy golden yellow body; the only nitpick I would say is that the carbonation seems heavy, looks odd on this kind of beer. Has fruity hops on the nose, hints of berries there, very nice indeed. Flavour is those same berry-ish hops in their simplicity with a medium-dry finish and slight oil on the mouthfeel. Solid and refreshing, great for a summer night on the patio.

Amber, frothy head. Aroma is light chewy rye and slightly fruity hop. On the palate, chewy and fairly dull. Lots of bittermess but not really going anywhere.

355 ml can. Pours a clear brown with a small, creamy, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel, bread and nuts. Sweet malty flavour of caramel and nuts with a dry finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation.

Golden, slight haze. Medium head. Quite fruity, light malt underneath that. Some oniony hops, moderate bitterness. Balanced. Well made, just not my favourite hop character.
