Brewery draught, 11/3/24. Clear, dark mahogany with a lighter tan head, moderate-to-low retention. A classic, mid-2000's (or earlier, I guess) take on the style with a medium body (though no thinning at all), higher attenuation, more licorice, roast and bitter cacao notes than normal, and finally the unmistakable PNW hopping. Clean, aromatic, flavorful and balanced, though, and perfectly competent.

Draft with dinner in Lee. Cloudy dirty yellow. Nose is herbal and fruity. Tastes of pineapple, herbal, pine, some citrus. Lightly bitter.

Can pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is deeply hazy yellow with nice, lazy sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with good retention and light soapy lacing. Aroma is moderately strong mix of sweet and tart citrus, milder stone fruit and pine. Taste is fairly strong pilsner malts mixed with milder tart citrus and late bitterness. Mouthfeel is light bodied with frothy texture, fizzy carbonation that dominates the experience and a dry, crisp mostly bitter finish. Overall, this started with so much promise with exceptional appearance and aroma. Taste is out-of-whack malty and carbonation overwhelms the experience. There's enough here for the brewer to work with, though, to turn it into something great, especially for a session.

Dusty and lots of not-so-well-integrated lime peel. Light tangy bitter finish but really nothing to this beer. Kind of empty, with a bitterroot, off type of aftertaste. Tall can from a store in some Hampton in Mass.
