Description
The first reports about brewing beer in Vysoký Chlumec date back to 1466. From 1474 onwards the brewery was owned by the Roudnice branch of the traditional aristocratic Lobkowicz dynasty. The first preserved letter to the brewery in Vysoký Chlumec dates back to 1611. During 1939-1945 and 1948-1992 the Lobkowicz family was deprived of the right to manage the brewery. In 1992 they got the brewery back through restitution. Immediately, the Lobkowicz family invested in the modernisation and innovation of brewing in Vysoký Chlumec which was completed in 2006. Own brewing stopped in 2021.

On tap in Bratislava, SK. Light amber color, clear average persistent white head. Grainy malts and dry czech hops with an hint of lemon zest. Mild bitterness. Carbonated, light to medium body, extra dry, sharp finish. Straight czech pilsener.

Tap at Slovansky Lipy. Decently malty nose, biscuits, lemon. Clear, dark gold,fine head. Tangy, hoppy, grass and lemon, crackery malt. Nice, rather full.

Lahev: Golden(zlatý), hazy, small creamy head; fruity (raspberries - maliny) and wheaty nose accompanied by very gentle aromas of yeast; sourish-sweetish flavour, pretty light bodied and not very soft; short light sourish-sweetish finish, followed by a certain fruity touch in the aftertaste. Refreshing…

Bottle. Courtesy of Sarky. Cheers Martin. Hazy, copper colour. Lots of bits. Film of lively, white head. Aromas of toffee. Nuts. Marzipan. Some fruity hop. Taste is light sweet. Soft, fruity bitter. Moderate body. Finishes light, nutty sweet, with a soft, fruity bitter close. Nice one.

Appearance: Clear golden color. Huge, white head.

500ml bottle from premium Czech beers online. Pours hazy gold, thick white head, high carbonation. Aromas of banana, light clove. Taste is sweet, bready, thin finish.
