Description
The first reports about brewing beer in Vysoký Chlumec date back to 1466. From 1474 onwards the brewery was owned by the Roudnice branch of the traditional aristocratic Lobkowicz dynasty. The first preserved letter to the brewery in Vysoký Chlumec dates back to 1611. During 1939-1945 and 1948-1992 the Lobkowicz family was deprived of the right to manage the brewery. In 1992 they got the brewery back through restitution. Immediately, the Lobkowicz family invested in the modernisation and innovation of brewing in Vysoký Chlumec which was completed in 2006. Own brewing stopped in 2021.

Draught (Beerpoint, Prague) - Light amber with a foamy head. Malt and dried fruit in the aroma. Slightly musty. Malty taste with sultanas, dried fruit and spice.

On tap pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is light grain some earthy notes and grass. Taste is more of the same light grain malts grass kick.

On tap pours out amber topped with a sand head. Nose is sweet caramel malts some toast kick. Taste is more of the nice sweet caramel malts toasted bread kick.

0,5 l bottle as Lobkowicz Démon. Clear red brown in the glass, more than one finger pale beige head. Love that look. Red malty smell. Taste is mid roasty malty, grainy. Increasing mid bitterness. Low carbonation. Okay. Big thank you to kappldav123.

Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. MOderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate.

Draught, 4.9% at Beer Point, Prague as Beer Point Kvasnicové. Good bready aroma. Hazy golden colour, actually almost clear. Stable white head. The flavour is bready with a mild yeast note. Bready finish. If I had my own bar I would have a better beer named after it, but it is an all-round beer suited for a wider audience, I guess.

Lahev (nyní 10,5%): Deep golden, almost clear, medium-sized creamy and very stable (off-) white head, mild buttery and bready-malty nose with delicate, but distinctive spicy-hoppy background; almost moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied - as expected, not watery; slightly lingering bready and buttery finish with a mild “Saazy” tail.
