Dark golden with a white head - Good hop aroma with fruits - good malt body to support a hop profile that is fruity - Hop finish that has some bitterness and ends short - This was nice

Info: Since there’s no commercial description and previous reviewer is confused, some info on the beer first. This is a traditional Norwegian farmhouse ale, in the style common in Voss. It’s brewed in copper cauldrons over open fire, with a long mash and a long boil, as is traditional. It’s fermented with yeast from a local home brewer. There’s also two Norwegian hops in there, as well as French Strisselspalt, but the fruit character is from the yeast. Juniper infusion is also used instead of water, as per tradition.
My rating: No head, just a coarse fringe. Hazy opaque orange body. Fruity mealy wild berries aroma with juniper notes. (That was the best I could make out. I was sitting next to a barbecue.) Sweet mealy orangey herbal taste with strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel, flat. Dry-sweet, somewhat astringent, fruity lingonberry and juniper aftertaste with minty herbal orangey notes. Clean, fresh, and drinkable. Possibly a little too sweet, but still something I could drink lots and lots of. (0.3l draft at Grünerløkka Mikrobryggfestival.)
Notes from second tasting: Pale, brownish, muddy body. Sweetish. Juniper, wild berries. Is the fruit character fading? Spicy, mealy. Still maybe a bit thin, but very soft. Low carbonation makes it very drinkable. Orangey character is there. Lingonberry. Bitterness mostly absent.

Sample on tap at Grünerløkka Mat og mikrobryggfestival. Very hazy golden to orange with a slightly off-white head. Moderate fruity and fairly malty aroma with some herbal and yeasty notes. Moderate to medium sweet with mild, but fairly pleasant fruity and malty flavours and a fairly light bitterness. Not quite my kind of brew, but nice enough.

Sample on tap at Grünerløkka Mat og mikrobryggfestival. Hazy brownish orange with a minimal bubbely head. Moderate malty and fruity aroma with mild hoppy and yeasty notes. Strange and a bit difficult to recognise the flavours. Medium sweet with some fruity and slightly sour notes. Soft carbonation and medium body. Strange, but fairly nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Vossaøl on 30 Aug 2014 at 19:16 - Score: 6

On tap @ Una, Bergen. Pours dark golden amber with a small creamy head. Aroma is hoppy orange peel and some tropical whiffs, as well as light smoke and juniper. Medium body with soft carbonation. Flavour is bitter with citrusy hops with orange peel, yeasty wooden notes, smoke and juniper, as well as roasted malts with grain and heathery spicy honey. Quite hoppy finish with lightly tropical and orange peel notes.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a lightly hazy golden body under a dense, white head. The aroma has juniper, pine cones and a little maltyness. Some herbal hop notes. There’s a fine bitterness in the flavor, some herbal notes and pine cones, with quite a lot of juniper. And some malts in the back. Medium to full body with a fine carbonation level. Lasting finish with pale malts, juniper and a bitterness. A really fine one, well worth a revisit, which I will sure have if I ever bump into this beer again. 140617
