In late 2021 we created Datum Attitude Brewing Co, brewing the beers that we love inspired by our passion for aviation.

We’re a modern brewery in rural Essex, brewing exciting beers of differing styles that are difficult to find locally. Our ethos revolves around brewing flavourful beers of the highest possible quality, using the best ingredients and techniques.

We focus on quality, brewing only the styles that we love in order to make our beers stand apart. Our beers are unfiltered and naturally vegan friendly.

We’re a family run brewery that’s independently managed and owned.

Keg at Briarbank’s 2024 Summer Beer Festival with Grumbo and ITFCDan. Aroma is pine, yoghurt, passion fruit, berry, tropical fruit. Nice and smooth with good body and bitterness.

Can. Bright clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Light palate, a very mild dryness, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, a streak of crisp and not particularly sweet toffee, very mild blink-and-you-will-miss-it creamy sweetness. The class 3C hop combo deliver cooling pine, crisp ripe orange, thick cut marmalade and a touch of citrus peel. Crisp finish. Crisp and drinkable. I just think this needs something else to elevate it, a little more richness in the malts would do the trick.

Can. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, modest fine carbonation. Light smooth malts, a little honeyish sweetness. The NZ hops bring ripe grape, a little lime and a touch of tangerine. All in, a good hop profile. Not much lager vibe and the thing that really hamstrings this one is the somewhat flaccid carbonation. You can't do flaccid lagers, not in my book anyway. 6.4

Can. Much more Nelson this one, can actually taste winey grape! It's crisper too, not quite crisp enough but, a darn site better than the previous can.

Can. Almost clear and surprisingly deep gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. The pale malts are sweet enough, touch of grain. Hops bring cooling pine and slightly ripe orange. The Azacca brightens things up a tad with a touch of lemon. Light and semi dry finish. Not their best but it's alright. 6.3

Can. Near clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Airy palate, light and with a good fine minerally crispness. Light smooth pale malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Unusual and effective hop trio. Light crisp pine into a mild Enigma cranberry and decent Centennial slightly lemony citrus. Calypso providing that bright orchard fruit vibe. Light crisp piney finish. Comes together well and delivers good hoppage for the abv. A definite sessioner candidate.

23/8/2024. Keg at Briarbank’s 2024 Summer Beer Festival. Pours cloudy pale yellow gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma is gooseberry, orange, citrus, passion fruit, stone fruit, pine. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Quite full bodied, smooth and creamy, soft carbonation. Very well done.

25/7/2024. Tap at the 34th Ipswich Beer & Cider Festival. Pours hazy very dark brown with a frothy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, cocoa, dark fruits. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily and smooth, average to soft carbonation. Enjoyable.

25/7/2024. Tap at the 34th Ipswich Beer & Cider Festival. Pours slightly hazy pale yellow gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, melon, husky tropical fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Slightly watery, average to soft carbonation.

Can. Bright clear gold beer, small white head. Light palate, very mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Sweetish malts, slightly thin. Lager tang loud and clear. The noble hops bring soft pine, a very mild nip of hop spice and some soft ripe citrus. Light finish. Pretty drinkable, could do with a little more hops for me but that just me, there is hops here!

Can. Just a mild haze on this gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head, doesn't last long. Palate is light with modest fine minerally carbonation. Thin malts, some grain here, could pass for a cask lager in some ways. Decent piney hops and modest and fairly ripe citrus. A little brighter orange on the minerally crisp finish. Not bad, just a bit thin. .
