Description
In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.

In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

Beer No. 44 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
From the bottle somewhere in Berlin. Sweet malty, light hoppy and fruity with grainy and caramel notes. Rather short finish. Average beer.

Golden colour, white head with rather big bubbles. Aroma of malts, hay, some honey. Flavour rather sweet, malty, hay, honey and a touch of hops. Rather light bodied but refreshing, quite what could be expected of a Koelsch.

not a style that would garner high ratings due to the lightness and lack of bold flavors, so i tried to rate this based on the style characteristics, not personal taste. Very crisp with a little skunkiness, very light and reminiscent of a pale lager except for the late hop bitterness and light malt sweetness. Good choice for those people who would normally enjoy a macro pale lager but are willing to try an import.

Brooklyn Public House tap ($6): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is of grass, German hops, and some malts. The problem with this beer is that it is not good. I am very surprised it got this high of a rating considering that it has pretty strong off-notes. The finish of the beer is actually a bit bad. Sure there are hops and malts in this beer and sure, this has more taste than a macro, but if asked whether I would want to drink it again, I would say, "no."
