Bottle. Pours clear light golden with airy white head. Faint, milky aroma of hop and grain. Sourish and slightly botter taste of hop. Dry finish. Not bad for the type.

Draft. Golden beer with a whitish head. Malt and light spice aroma. Malt and light hay flavor with light citrus. Medium bodied. Malt and light hay lingers with light citrus and light grain.

Poured into a stange, a little deeper golden than the Fruh, with a one finger airy head. Aroma and flavor not quite as strong as the Fruh, mouthfeel slightly watery and aftertaste flat.

33cl Bottle, best before 10th Oct 2012: poured twice into my ’Gaffel Kolsch’ glass on 6th July 2012. Looks the part: pale gold, bright, clear and clean. Large white head from each pour, usual fade to a wispy covering and collar after two sips. Sweet corn smell and a sweetish taste too: an OK Kolsch, but I’ve always struggled to appreciate the style to be honest. I’ve reviewed/rated a few: drank many in Koln before the internet arrived but can’t say I’m a big fan of them even fresh in their brewhouses or beergardens. They do however taste better in bright, warm sunlight compared to indoors on a wet and windy evening in the UK.

Clear intense pale yellow with small white head. Balanced flavour with medium bitter finish.

Malty, sweet smell. Pale amber colour, high white head. A bit fruity, moderately sweet. Flat, mild carbonation. Malty aftertaste. Very mild without being badly watery.

Bottle @ Clockwork Brewpub. Clear golden colour, white head. Nose is vegetables, grassy. Flavour is grassy, vegetables, slightly dry finish.

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and moderate hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 081211
