Description
In 1894 the Obergärige Brauerei Heinrich Reissdorf was founded by Heinrich Reissdorf in the Cologne Severins neighbourhood. In 1923 the brewery started to brew bottom-fermented beers and it became the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf. Through the years it stayed in the family.

In 1996, the Privat-Brauerie Heinrich Reissdorf acquired today's company premises in the industrial area of Cologne-Rodenkirchen. With the new production facility, a brewery was created, which is equipped with the latest brewery technology and meets the highest quality standards.

50cl bottle bought in Dusseldorf. Pale amber with a hugh cream head and lots of fizz when first poured, but this rapidly fades; assertive German hop aroma; the first taste impression is that this is light, fresh and easy to drink, but it then becomes more substantial with some oily pear-drop esters. Very pleasant.

Draught at the Canton Chinese Restaurant in Cologne. Fine, solid head on medium gold beer. Slightly grassy hop aroma with cereal malts. Nice and crisp, with a touch of citrus. Light malts, a bit sweet, with some fruit and grassy hops. Slightly bitter at the finish. A bit boring, but clean and not too sweet. Decent, but not at all great.
