JR Mahon's occupies the same site as the former Messrs Maguire and JW Sweetman Brewpubs.

Brewing has never taken place on this site for JR Mahon's and beers are brewed by Hoskins & Hoskins at their Bow Street Brewery.

Owned and operated by brothers and veterans of the beer industry, we have been responsible for all brewing operations at 1-2 Burgh Quay, now J.R. Mahon’s, since 2009. In late 2021, we commissioned our own brewery a tour Bow St premises, up river in Smithfield, Dublin7, and in early 2022 began brewing beer there. We produce lagers, ales and stouts, sold in keg, cask and bottle. Our philosophy and approach to beer making is simple; classic styles, traditional methods, well made.

On tap @ Mahon’s, Dublin. Marrón bastante oscura, casi opaca aunque con evidente tinte rojizo. Poca espuma, ocre pero bastante duradera. Aroma escaso ligero a malta tostada. Muy agradable en boca, de paso fácil y buen paladar. Perfecto punto de gas. Rico sabor de maltas tostadas, notas de café y contrapunto ligeramente seco al final con un amargor muy moderado.

Dark brown with a creamy, thin tan head. Watery body. Sweeter side. Roasted malt, light cocoa, a touch of citrus. Not in the upper echelon of the style.

Golden pour topped with an off white cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is bitter orange, grass, citric tinged straw.
Taste comprises orange zest, light pine nibble, grass, grapefruit.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light danko edge to the bitterness.
Not bad.

Lighter shade of black with a good sized lasting tan head.
Nose is dark malts, charr, roasted vibes, cocoa powder.
Taste comprises cocoa powder, raisins, light ashen nip, charr.
Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close.
Tidy enough stout.
