Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head. There’s biscuits and roasted malts in the aroma, but in the mouth the dominant flavour is appley autumn fruits. There’s some vanilla and roasted malts come through later, along with yeasty liquorice. The finish is very fruity, and slightly dry. A little unusual, but a nice stout nonetheless.

Can picked up from Hoptimism website, Loughborough, Leicestershire, UK. Had this at home Friday 18th December 2029 listening to Iggy Pop on 6 Music with the Iggy confidential show we had Chicken Lababada from the Curryguy tonight it was really nice with homemade Nan bread and Onion Bhajis. For a Bourbon Barrel aged Imperial Stout. Mmhhh... it's fair from impressive. It's a little bit lacking in carbonation, black as yet at' on the pour. I guess that it's okay, nothing special, a little tar, there is an oily mouthfeel, doesn't taste 12%, liquorice, thin, a little aniseed. Not doing anything for me.
