Description

In 1987, Brita Andersson, the mother of Magnus Andersson, became the owner of the Manor and the driving force of the present family-run company. A few years later, in 1994, at the sight of red rowanberries ripening outside the window Brita made a vow: “I’ll make jelly from those berries.” That is exactly what she did. She made jelly, came up with ideas for tasty gifts and prepared traditional homemade preserves, cooking them in large pans over slow heat on the wooden range in the Manor kitchen. The story of Hommanäs delicacies had begun.

Plastic bottle 0.75l at home, Nivala. Bottled 22 05 2023. Colour is cloudy slightly murky golden with almost no head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, citrus, sugar, some Brown sugar, honey.... citric home Mead.

75 cl bottle @ home, BBE 11.05.2020. Aroma is sweetish with sugar, lemony tones and fruit sugar. Flavour has sweet fruity tones, mild lemon. A tad too high on CO2. A homemade mead on the sweet side; not as drinkable as Raijan Kotisimaa.

75 cl plastic bottle @ home. BBE 05.05.2019. Aroma has lemon, some sugar and mild fruitiness. Flavour has lemon, sugar and fruits. Fizzy and foaming palate. An average homemade mead; could have more character.
