Bottle. Very clean, non-offending beer. Mild, but with a little malty sweetness at the end

The aroma is lightly sweet and lightly hoppy. The color is dark yellow and it has a beutiful head. The flavor is lovely sweet and rather bitter, but the bitterness hits late, and it is not the best hops used. It is rather carbonated. An OK beer - but not exceptional.

Original comment: (500 ml brown bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Norway). Typical pilsener golden colour, large frothy head. Lovely Saaz aroma, the flavour has sufficient malts to balance the irresistibly crisp hoppy bitterness. This is another evidence that pilseners / lagers from big breweries do NOT have to taste like ...nothing. A great refreshment beer from our friends in Brno!
New comment July 2007 (I’m keeping the old rating numbers), 330 ml green bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. The ABV in Norway has now been watered down to 4.7%, to allow the beer to be sold in our grocery stores. Distributed in Norway by Hansa-Borg Bryggerier. Golden colour, large head. NIce Saaz/Zatec aroma with flowery, grassy and also some "skunky" notes, hints of honey. The flavour has decent pilsener malts and a moderate Saaz/Zatec bitterness. Okay, but they should have kept the brown bottles and 5% ABV!

Dark brown; Aroma: nutty, toasty, even a little roasty. Palate: toffee, chewy malts, earth, brown sugar. Finish: long, sweet, toasty malt. Starobrno is emerging as my favourite Czech brewery.

Pleasant malty flavour, long bitter finish. Nice Pilsener!..................

Chestnut; nutty, malty nose; smooth, slightly toffeeish; malty palate (demerara, whole wheat pie crust). Another winner from this great Moravian brewery.
