Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sour lemon with citrus peel, lime, and bready wheat. Flavour is tart and sourish with a little sweetness. Body is light. Pretty acceptable, sourness was a pleasant surprise.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Aroma is ginger, herbal tea, touch of lemon/lime, light floral, lemongrass. Flavour is mild bitterness, body is light and watery. Not as bad as I expected, it's actually kinda refreshing.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Citrussy aroma with lots of yuzu, grapefruit, lightly wheaty malt, herbal tea, lemon. Flavour is a bit tart with a light bitterness. Body is light and watery. Thin, but I kinda dig the citrussy aroma. Refreshing.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Aroma is fruity with orange peel, tropical fruit, mango, citrus, and wheaty malt. Not picking up the cardamom, which is fine. Flavour is moderate sweet and mildly bitter. Light body. Like a fruited low-alc. Wheat Ale. Refreshing and pretty decent.

Can from a local bottle shop. Aroma is grassy noble hop with grainy malt and a touch of lemongrass. Moderate bitter flavour with an appropriately dry finish. Light to medium body. Nicely crisp Pilsner, I'd pick up a six-pack of this.

Wheat beer flavoured with leftover lemons and elderblossoms (making me wonder where these leftovers originally came from), from the Albert Heijn supermarket in Lokeren. Thick and foamy, egg-white, membrane-lacing, dense, stable head over a near clear pale straw-yellow robe with greenish tinge. Aroma initially rather lightstruck (stale armpit sweat), fading more slowly than usual (alas), but not getting too much in the way of impressions of dry lemon zest, matcha tea, rucola, that cheesy and floral hint of elderblossom but faintly so, wet sand, white bread, withering leek and an annoying background hint of yellow lemonade. Thinly but consistently sweet onset, a bit sugary even (Radler vaguely springs to mind, but fortunately not that sweet by any means), fruity notes of red apple, ripe pear and indeed sourish lemon (though very softly); prickly carbonation, slick mouthfeel with slick, soapy, bit sourish wheat dominating, very smooth and a bit thin, with a green fruitiness continuing as well as that sugary touch, the latter becoming a bit lemonade-like again in the end. Cheesy, blossomy elderflower appears retronasally while hops remain all but absent, furthering this wheat slickness, sugary aspect and lemon zestiness to a rather unsatisfying finish. The Ghentian 'Roomer' elderblossom liqueur springs to mind, but remotely so and in a much thinner way. Clearly adapted for the masses - and though these Lowlander beers may seem interesting for their sometimes unusual application of botanicals, I still do not get them, none of them has managed to convince me so far. Oh well, who knows, maybe this concoction functions better when drunk ice cold on a benign spring day than on a freezing cold January night...
