3$ can at vintage. Many cans in this sixpack with different labels. Light haze on an otherwise clear pale beer with a big foaming head that fades to a few bubbles after a minute. Nose is crisp friendly citrus. First big swig makes me want to think bitter wheat ale but it immediately morphs into an overwhelming citrus impact. Mostly grapefruit but some other reticulata or mangshanensi maybe even some japonica; who knows? The middle reveals a little more freshness and manners. Getting over the wheat ale bitterness, it fades into the sunset. In the end I simply found it to be a refreshing alternative, nearly shandy but never forgets it is an ale.

Pour is a cloudy amber with an average white head. Aroma is a big time clove and spice. Flavor is a little less clove and a little less spice. Both are there but not as much as the aroma let on. Some cinnamon lingers on the tongue after the swallow. Still a pretty good spiced winter warmer but the aroma was the show here.

Black 12 oz can. Clean fresh neutral nose. Lots of foam on a clear pale beer. First impression is lots of cutting co2. Second thing I feel is a little bit of hop bitter bite, surprisingly. Except for that slightly off bitter feel, I think it may be a little refreshing; this coming from a ratebeerian who likes macro pale lager. Not getting any noble hops, hehehh. But hey, guess what, its an adjunct that makes this beer fly and what adjunct do you have the most of in japan? Or is it vietnam? Just asking. I'd say asian but that is politically incorrect, no?
