Bottle received in Country tick trade with Tim, cheers! Country #161. Pours amber brown with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, dark fruit, toffee, molasses and touch of chocolate. Toward heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, below average carbonation. Low expectations perhaps, but I liked this, certainly one of the betterAfrican beers I’ve had.

Bottle kindly shared by Rubin77 at a tasting in his flat. Rather neutral and mild. The little character it has is caramelly, with slight overlap to astringency. Drnks easy.

Bottle from an African shop in the Matongé district in Brussels. Thick and frothy, yellowish white, coarse head, colour clear copper. Aroma of caramel, toasted bread, tea, iron, biscuit. Soft sweetish caramelly taste, ’malt fruitiness’, smooth and slick with medium carbo, bit minerally, somewhat metallic middle phase with toasted accent and a gentle, herbal and grassy hop bitterishness in the finish reinforcing the equally gentle toasted bitterishness. Much better than expected, actually.

Thanks to erzengel for this one. Pours with a clar amber color, topped with a decent tan colored head. Retention is OK. The aroma is pretty straightforward. Some malts along with heavy grain aroma. The taste is slightly sweet at first, followed by a gentle bitterness and some weird grainy taste (at least I think it’s grainy). Not nice. Just another country added, nothing more.
