11/7/2020. Bottle at the NCFC relegation party, bought at Ben's Off Licence. Poured clear pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of grain, corn and fruit. Medium sweetness and light bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily watery texture, average carbonation. It's ok.

73cl bottle from FreshMed supermarket Etterbeek, Brussels. F: medium, white, average retention. C: gold, clear. A: malty, grainy, corny, bit mineral water. T: medium malty base, sweet corny, bit caramel, watery body, medium carbonation, to my surprise not big sensory flaw here but of course very boring beer.

500ml bottle from an offie in London’s Seven Sisters neighbourhood. Pours clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel, toasted malt, dark fruits. Taste is light sweet, caramel malt, burnt toast, light bitter finish. One of the best African beers I’ve tried so far.

50 cl bottle at the Africa Museum restaurant, Tervuren (BE). Amber pour with some copperish shades. Short-lived, tan head. Aroma is rather low: some iron and a touch of camomile. Light, medium-bodied, simple and easy to drink. Slight metal, subtle acidity. Almost no bitterness in the abrupt finish. Bah.

650ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, May '19. Many thanks Jeremy for letting me colour in a big fat section of Africa with this expensive DR Congo tick! Clear amber appearance, frothy off-white head. Aroma has respectable caramel malt aroma, taste presents a surprising caramel sweetness, nicely balanced.. did not expect a vienna lager to be brewed in this neck of the woods. Really not bad at all.
