Bottle shared by Dutchdrebus @ weekly tasting. Clear golden color, small white head. Not a lot of aroma, not a lot of flavor. Low body and carbonation.

Bottled, 0.60l. Clear almost black color with large frothy light brown head and fair lacing. Aroma is very light malty, nutty with caramel notes. Tastes of sweet toasted malt, caramel, chocolate, but without any bitterness at all. Medium body, sticky texture and lively carbonation in palate. Somehow drinkable, but way too sweet...

Pours from a can a pale yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grainy malt and slight hops. Light-bodied with flavors of bready malt, earthy hops and cardboard. The finish is sweet with a corn and malt aftertaste. Not good.

On tap, 0.50l. Clear pale golden color with small frothy white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is mild malty and grassy, typical lager-like. Taste is light sweet malty with honey notes, sour grassy following and very light bitter finish. Light body, thin texture and lively carbonation in palate. Skol or no Skol? That’s not a question at all...

Several bottles outside Bar Urca enjoying the great views of Rio. This beer seemed to be everywhere and whilst it won’t win any taste awards there is some drinkability here. Its crisp and there is some half decent bitterness lurking. Maybe I was caught up in the moment of a beautiful spot but I’ve had much worse beers and I think this is the pick of all the mass produced brazilian lagers. I like the penguin label too.
