12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a lager glass. Pours a cloudy blood red with about 3 fingers of frothy pink head. Aroma of caramel malt and citrus hops. Very slight aroma of berry or cherry in there. Taste is lightly bitter. Mostly caramel with some slight citrus hops. Medium bodied with a quite creamy and thick texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not that bad. Better than I was expecting. Quite gimmicky. I’ll finish this one, but won’t but buying anymore.

Pours pale amber with a large, lasting head.Nose shows restrained orange marmalade with some bready malt in the background.Flavours concentrate on the malt, mainly bready and grainy characters. A little of the citrus fruit hops transfers through too. The finish is a little metallic.Could use more carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear brown with a tan head. Nose/taste of raisin, oak, bourbon barrel, caramel and toffee. Medium body. Smooth dark raisin finish.

Expensive as hell bomber pours dark clear ruby red with tan head. Based on my memory of the non-barrel aged version I am expecting something overly sweet and near undrinkable. Here goes. The aroma is smooth sweet bourbon, vanilla and wood with just noticeable levels of sweet malts and prunes well off in the background. The taste begins with a rush of sweet thick malts, uh oh, sweet sticky prunes and raisins. Just as you begin to understand the boldness of the sweet esters an even brasher bombardment of bourbon booze booziness, that only seems to get bolder and bolder, followed close by firm notes of oak and sweet vanilla and some caramel take complete control and hurry this thing into the finish. For the most part the barrel has eaten up the overly sweet beer that went into it. A little less barrel time would have been interesting to try.

Draft. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Bourbon and malt aroma. Bourbon and malt flavor with light mineral notes. Medium bodied. Bourbon and malt lingers with light mineral notes.

Bottle. Pours a strange marginally-sanguine red-brown, topped by a thin pinkish off-white head. Caramely nose with toast and scorched candy corn. Sweet, caramely body with the same burnt candy corn notes, herbal with some tobacco and raisin. Sweet, leafy finish.

Ruddy copper, full foamy head. Big barrel nose with notes of caramel, vanilla and oak, but not a distinctly Jack Daniels nose. Fluffy smooth mouthfeel but then a harsh alcoholic presence all the way through to the finish, with lingering caramel and oak flavors at the end. Almost good but too harsh and abrasive.
