Bottle from Once Upon a Vine South on 09/19/2008. Pours a slightly hazy red body with a rather large frothy pink head. Sweet grainy and toasty aroma. Sweet slightly grainy and toasty flavor with some citrusy hops. Medium body with moderate carbonation. This is more of an American Pale Ale with red food coloring instead of an Oktoberfest. Really not that bad, but the color tends to surprise you.

Weird cherry red color in the body, bright, artificial pink head. Malt and sweet candy aroma. Malt and fruity sweet flavor. Not great, but it’s different.

22oz bottle-pours an off white head and gold color. Aroma is mild west coast I.P. lager (Amarillo and Simcoe), secondary medium malt-caramel. Taste is balanced hops and malt with initial spice/lemon/resin, then a solid light/medium malt backbone follows. Thanks jwc215 for sharing this.

Bomber from Country Club Liquors. Hazy yellow with a huge pale yellow glass-lacing head. Nose of wheat, lemons, spices, and light fruit. Very spicy and lemony. Flavor of corriander, pepperiness, light hop bitterness, yeast, and a slight banana note. Would be a great session lager.

Bomber from Country Club Liquors. Nose of floral, orangey citrus hops. Hazy yellow with a small yellowish head. Flavor is bitterness tempered with lemons, kind of like a lighter IPA. Finish is slightly bitter.

220z bombers and draught (Sunset Grill) in September and October ’08
Almost nothing of note in the flavor other than a passing toastiness and light caramel sweetness that is washed away in the rather watery finish. Although there is a little bit of stickiness/creaminess in the middle, I just don’t find enough of malt, hop or yeast to produce a lasting, substantial beer. If you’re going to go low on malt sweetness in this style, at least add some decent hop crispness or nice yeast bite. Almost no aroma.
