Bottle shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 1. A almost black beer with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malt, dried fruits, coffee, wood and liquorice. Taste of strong dark malt, tons of liquorice, coffee, reddish fruits, quite nice!

Dark brown to black colored, medium- tan head. Aroma is of dark chocolate, some roasted malt, light lactose. Taste is medium sweet malt, roasted malt, milk and dark chocolate, some lactose, medium bitterness, dryish finish. Medium- bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy. Quite tasty for a light beer, not overdone with the lactose also. (on tap, Craft Room, Zagreb)

Very good, lightly yellowish head, stable, over (cold)hazed orangey golden beer. Intense fragrant fruity (mainly citrus) hops, but also catty, ureum. Lunaria, citruspeel. More of the same; citruspeel (specifically the oils from the outer peel), grapefruit. Finish is wry-bitterish to bitter, with a lemontea flavour. Malt is there as backing, but has as good as no influence on the taste, hops being all-conquering. Some astringency, quite slick to oily, good carbonation. Quite decent DIPA, although a bit hard on the oils. 7/4/7/4/15

Medium but dense & stable dark-cream head over virtually black beer. Husks, coffee, tobacco, even some leather; warming up, chocolate (milk and dark) coming up. Dry-bitterish, again tobacco and coffeegrind. Cream (feel and taste) from the lactose suggesting sweetness, yet keeping in dry. Some malty underbuild. Creamy & film-y feel; feeling better bodied than it is; good carbonation. First impressions (aroma & flavour) are dry and great, but they mellow just a touch too much afterwards. 7/4/7/4/14

Keg halfpint at Brew Dock, Dublin. 8% ABV. Black colour, tan head. Moderate roasty aroma, notes of chocolate. Smooth and slightly sweet flavour, notes of chocolate and moderately roast malts, hints of oatmeal and vanilla. Very good!

Keg halfpint at Brew Dock, Dublin. Black colour, no head. Aroma of roast malts, hints of cherries and marzipan. Fruity and mildly roasty flavour, notes of cherries, a hint of almonds.

A session IPA? At 4.8%? On the back label it is called an American Pale ale, and that is a lot closer to my findings. Huge quite dense & fine, just yellowish head over hazy golden beer. Lasting lacerings. Citric hops, a bit catty and cheesy both; lunaria, valerian. Some fresh fruit, and just a touch of frying oil in the background. Very dry, clean & crisp greenery/hoppy flavour, medium bitterness, just a point of (citrussy) acidity. Yet somewhere, it is earthy too. Quite light, some slickness, hopoils, tending towards astringency. Long-lasting fresh green hops’ flavours. Refreshing. Very fine, lively carbonation. Quite nice indeed! 7/4/8/4/15

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Looks like carbonated juice of some sort...paaale milky ochre body with a lasting white head. Pungent citric aroma, ends bit dry and herbal. Milder taste, pleasant citric touches. Grainy soft notes in the background. Tasty, well balanced. Very good summer beer.
