Description
The Oslo was the start of Galway Bay Brewery and remains our flagship pub based in Salthill; our owners Jason O’Connell and Niall Walsh added a brewery on site in 2009, making The Oslo one of the country’s first brew pubs. Since then Galway Bay Brewery has expanded operations to 11 bars based in Galway and Dublin and have grown and re-positioned the Brewery just outside of Galway in Oranmore. We now produce four core beers along with a plethora of rotational beers that are released throughout the year.

With the installation of our new brew house we are turning our focus towards exporting and making our beers available in the UK and Europe

Bottle slpit at the Cotteridge Convention, thanks to Steve (BIK), 24/01/14. Lightly hazed orange amber with a moderately appointed off white covering. Nose is pine, earthy hops, candied fruit peel, passionfruit, mandarin, citric sherbets. Taste drops a little for me when contrasted with the nose, caramel malt, touch of pine needle, citric sherbet strokes, orange pith, light tropiciana, mineral wash. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a dose of hop bitterness. Decent easy drinking DIPA but no game changer.

Bottle at Cotteridge Tasting, Saturday 24th January 2015 Hazy light amber with slim wispy head. Thick in mouth, a little syrupy but hugely hoppy. Really zappy hops, soft in mouth, warmth from alcohol. Very good. Crikey two Irish corkers, btw big thanks to Beersiveknown for all of the Irish beers. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

oh God is that good...on draft, hazy gold in color, fluffy white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Pine, floral, citrus hop aroma floating up from even a few feet away. Taste is the same which is lovely, but the extra step here is the mouthfeel, remove the astringent medicinal quality that some IPA’s have and insert a hop bomb that rests on a cloud for your tasting pleasure.

Taste of citrus zest, juicy fruits, tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit, grapefruit, bitter zest, nice sweet fruity pale malts background, really tasty
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, bit oily, smooth texture from the oatmeal, lots of bitter hops with a balanced sweet malt background. Finish has more bitter zest hop in the linger

Dark amber red, slight haze, thin bubbly off white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet fruity malts, soft berry fruits, soft citrus, dab of orange
Taste of bitter zest hops, red berry fruit malts, bitter orange, dab of piney hops, sticky caramel base, nice soft spicy yeast in this, rich flavour, alcohol a tad noticeable
Palate - Medium carb, medium to full body, quite sticky. Finish is rather dry, bitter spicy yeast and zest, fruity malts, seemed a bit over bitter initially, dab of alcohol
Overall - A beer with some saison yeast characteristics in there, but mainly lots of fruity malts and bitter zest. Decent flavour in this.
