Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

Appearance: Cloudy deep brown with a decent ivory-coloured head. Aroma: Dark malt, caramel, treacle, esters. Taste: Pretty sweet. Dark malt, caramel, treacle, esters., some hop. Light plus ending hop bitterness. Mouth feel: Medium body, soft to average carbonation. Summary: A bit too sweet. Not bad though.

0.5l can. Clear golden body with a white head. Aroma and taste of hay, apples and floral hops. Simple but clean beer. OK.

Can (from Alko web). Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is alcohol, sweet grains, maize and more alcohol. Flavour is alcohol, some grains, sweetness, and some maize with very sweet elements. Funny enough alcohol doesn't burn, so actually there is some kind of perverse balance to it all.

Very good, lightly yellowish head, retreating over fully hazy amberish orange beer. Rather sweet nose, oranges, caramel. Also diary, porridge, wet grains. Initially very bitter, rather undistinct bitterness. Underneath mild sweet malts, again grainy, other grains and a fair amount of oxydation - presumably the hops. Spelt? Well-bodied, hopoil slick, good carbonation. As one would expect if mega client brewers order craft beer. It won't work.

Aroma of mints and herbs and a faint malty note. Not as refreshing as the average mojito also reminds me of sol with flavoring. Flavor also reminds me of kaktus beer, sweet malty and boozy. This is not working out very well. However, the beer is not a bad brew, just not at all my taste.
