It is a deep Amber color, with a very small head, quickly fading. Rich, nutty, malty, bitter-sweet aroma. Spicy and nutty, slightly sweet, with caramel, raisins. Very aromatic. It’s really nice. The flavor is nice as well. It has a very big flavor, very full of malt. It’s sweet but not overly so. It’s relatively light on the hops, but they are there. Tastes like dried fruit, caramel. It’s relatively light on carbonation, and heavy bodied. There’s a touch of sour flavor, just a touch. It seems to balance it nicely. It has a decent bitter finish, leaving a kind of bitter, dry aftertaste that lingers on. This is a fantastic beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy grey amber colour. Small stable white head. The flavour has some rough bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel, like many nitrogen powered draught beers.

A brand new beer by U Medvidku which I had draught at the brewery. A fellow pivař at Zlý Časy told me about it, as it isn’t mentioned anywhere. Hazy deep golden yellow, large and creamy white head. Hoppy nose. Full-bodied with a solid and sweetish malty base and lovely floral-resiny hoppy flavours. Bitter-sweet character with a delicious touch of fruit.

swing top bottle (330ml). -Dark brown coloured, small beige head that went away fast, some berries nose with touch of wood. Very sweet fruity, caramel, figs and plums and quite syrupy taste. Alcohol is subdued but there’s no excuse for heavy sweetness. Not worth 133Kč that I’ve paid for it.

Sample at the Eurostash tasting on 04/30/09: Bottle from the brewpub. The beer is a hazy ruddy brown color with a minimal off-white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark malt, plums and candy. Syrupy body with flavors of roasted malt, dark ripe fruit and caramel. The finish is boozy, sticky dark fruits and malt. Definitely a sipper, and not bad overall.

Sample at the Eurostash tasting on 04/30/09: Bottle from the brewpub. This beer is a hazy orange color with a medium thin and creamy white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Tart fruit aroma with bits of earthy malt. Medium body with flavors of nearly sour fruit, pale malt and a metallic tinge. The finish is tart fruit that lingers awhile. Considering this is a Vienna I am assuming the bottle was past its prime. Will have to revisit at some point.

Small brown head. Hazy dark brown body. Alcoholic raisiny malty bubblegum aroma with roasty syrupy notes. Intense sweet treacly syrupy alcoholic fruit taste with roasty caramelly notes. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel with considerable alcohol heat. Thick-bodied. Sweet-dryish fruity bubblegum aftertaste with chocolate notes. Leaves sticky sugars on the lips. Interesting, but too sweet to be very drinkable. (0.33l bottle from the brewpub.)

Huge offwhite lasting head. Amber body. Aroma of dried fruit and malts with milky caramel notes. Hard to work out against a background of cigarette smoke, but think I did it. Dry-sweetish honey and dried fruit taste with resiny straw and earth notes. Soft, mild mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dry wooden resiny grassy aftertaste with chalky notes. Grassy caramel taste lingers for a long time. Excellent! (0.33l bottle at U Medviku.)

on tap at the brewery pours dark amber, tall tan head, good lacing. Sweet red wine aroma with a wood presence. Dark malt, sherry, and red wine flavors. Ends lingering on the sweet side. Some complex yeast and dark fruit in the finish. Silky mouth. The best beer I had in Prague.
