Draft. A- Straw, grains, mild alcohol, subtle sweetness. A- Yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Corn, alcohol. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, sharp finish. O- For only 9% and a Tripel this was a booze bomb and flavorless. I get no standard traits of a Belgian Tripel in here. Really lacking.

Draft. A- Roasty, cocoa. A- Black color, dark liquid, no head. T- Very roasty, cocoa, subtle smoke. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- The moment I saw this name, I figured not good things were going on. Judging by the description and the chatter in the tap room, I'm afraid things need to change or the end may be looming. Hopefully not the case. This was okay. Pretty standard stout but extremely roasty. The oatmeal definitely doesn't smooth out the beer.

Draft. A- Candi sugars, cat pee, dish soap. A- Yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Cat pee, garlic, dish soap, bitter, slightly sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly off finish. O- Definitely had a Belgian touch to it but not well executed. Has a lot of potential but not quite there.

Draft. A- Citrus, bready, pine. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Citrus, pine, caramel. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- A touch of old school IPA with a fair amount of west coast influence. Borderline DIPA. Okay.

Draft. A- Malty, bitter, caramel. A- Mahogany color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Malty, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Lots of malt and lots of bitterness. It is what it is. Not personally impressed but imagine it will please the crowds.
Rennat42 (5616) reviewed Where There's Smoke from Lost Way Brewery 7 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7
Draft. A- Smoke, mild char, light. A- Dark copper brown color, dark liquid, off white head. T- Smoke, ham brine, malty, mild cocoa. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- At first sip, this was great. Lots of smoke and umami notes going on throughout. Unfortunately, the aroma and taste faded as the beer warmed. By the end it was boring and malty. If this beer remained full bodied throughout the drinking experience, it would be in ear shot of Aecht Schlenkerla, however, it is not. That said, still a decent beer.

Draft. A- Bland, weak. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Rye, black pepper, grainy, mild bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Okay. Nose is really plain but on the palate this is actually better than most rye forward beers I've had. The rye is very much there and prominent but works real well.

Draft. A- Roasty, coffee, cocoa, milky. A- Black color, dark liquid, beige head. T- Roasty, char, cocoa, coffee. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, roasty finish. O- Not too sweet. In fact, hardly any sweetness at all and mostly roasted notes. More of an irish stout than sweet stout in my opinion. Drinkable for sure.
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5
Draft. A- Mild, honey, slightly sweet. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Mild peach, slightly soapy. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- A bit soapy and astringent in the finish. Hardly any bitterness. Almost more like a blonde than pale ale. Not bad. Actually fairly refreshing on a hot day after 4 hours of mowing.
