Taster at the Huntsville Brass Tap. Dark brown, with a small, beige head. The aroma is caraway seeds, heavy rye, black cherry, cola, and black bread. Sweet and oddly yeasty, with a mild bitterness. Light and bready. Not bad.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a dark, opaque, brown color, with a medium, frothy, beige head. Strong anise and chicory, with some cloves, toast, and cinnamon. Sweet and malty, with a lot of savory spice. Medium body, with a smooth, grainy mouthfeel. This is a mellow, malty beer, with huge amounts of spice.
