Opened late October 2022 as an addition to the Waterworks Brewery, the Taproom, (as is the brewery), is run by the same proprietor and team as the successful Waterworks micropub in Rye's town centre.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Cloudy, orange, dark golden colour with huge, firm, thick, frothy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity, hoppy and pale malty aroma, hints of mandarine and orange, some yellow stone fruit, a minimally zesty touch, marmalade, minimally funky overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, minimally biscuity, pale malty, citrusy fruity hoppy and slightly fruity and spicy, minimally funky yeasty, hints of mandarine, orange, orange biscuit, some yellow stone fruit, a bitter, zesty touch of marmalade. Slightly oily, watery texture, soft, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Fairly hoppy, some nice, dirty aspects - good.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Slightly cloudy, dark amber colour with huge, frothy, slowly oseoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Floral and minimally fruity, hoppy aroma, malty background with a touch of toffee, whiffs of yellow stone fruit, strawberry overtones. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, minimally nutty malty and floral, slightly fruity hoppy, hints of toffee, a touch of red berries. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium to coarse, prickly carbonation. Light and drinkable, but neither too flat nor watery - nice.

Cask handpull at the brewery slight haze amber colour lasting white head. Some sweet malt. Some decent hop on the finish English hops but quite strong presence. Apricot aroma. Stone fruit flavour. Peach stone flavour. Really rather good. Bit agricultural

Cask at the brewery Playden. Pours clear gold colour lasting white head Slightly hoppy golden ale. Lots of hop on the finish English hops Moderate bitterness. Like a green hop ale hop oiliness. Quite agricultural but interesting enough.

Cask gravity at K&ES 2023. Clear amber colour thin white head. A light ordinary bitter. Quite fruity from yeast and hops. Yes drinkable enough. Decent light bitterness builds.

7/6/2023. Cask at The Waterworks Micropub, Rye. Pours clear golden amber with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, citrus, orange, flowers, twig, touch of pine. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Nice bitter finish. Good.

7/6/2023. Cask at The Waterworks Micropub, Rye. Pours clear dark golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma of orange, malt, stone fruits, caramel, tropical notes. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Very nicely done.
